Novomatic AG, an international tech and gambling company unveiled its new facility in Spain. The venue is a casino under the Admiral brand near Seville. It started working after an extensive renovation program that cost about $6.7 million. This venue is only one element in the operator’s plan to expand its offer deeper into Andalusia and the rest of Spain’s countryside. The new Casino Admiral Sevilla has almost 11,000 square feet of gaming space.
There it offers about 100 slot machines and an array of live game tables. These cover roulette and blackjack, as well as the popular poker tables. The venue is in the Tomares suburb and it offers its sportsbook and two restaurants. A new feature of the facility is an event center. The operator also made sure that the restaurant offer is more diverse.
This is why the venue provides a sushi bar, but also a restaurant that offers traditional Andalusian dishes. Manfred Schartner, the managing director of the company’s Spanish operations said that the renovated facility is an important step in the company’s local growth. So far, according to him, the company obtained mainly positive feedback from both partners and customers. This is a big push for the operator to continue its strategy that has so far proven to be successful.
Before the renovation, the casino name was the Gran Casino Aljarafe. It was the first and also the only Seville casino but Novomatic bought it in 2016. Immediately, the operator made plans for its upgrade. The company also had the backing of the local and regional community and legislators.
That is why the opening saw appearances from the Tomares major, representatives of the Andalusia government and many others. Besides Admiral Sevilla, Novomatic is operating a Malaga casino called the Admiral Casino San Roque. In September, its new facility in Granada should also open its doors.
This facility has a cost of $5.2 million and should create over 200 jobs in the same historic city. This definitely shows a strong commitment to moving into the Spanish mainland with their casino facilities. Overall the strategy might prove to be very successful because it provides a unique setting that the Far East operators cannot compete.
With a dwindling competition from other regional countries like Italy, Novomatic could have a golden opportunity on its hands. The only potential problem is the reliance on the EU and global VIP market, which has been struggling over the past period.
